The Advisory Board is the core group of experts and stakeholders to provide vital input from
policymakers and experts in science-based policymaking during the project’s lifetime. It will be composed of current
and past experienced policymakers and policy experts that are engaged first hands-on evidence-based policymaking. The following persons are members of the Advisory Board:
- Laura Cozzi – Director of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks at the International Energy Agency. She plans and coordinates the IEA’s work on energy sustainability, encompassing energy technology policy and climate change. She is also the Agency’s Chief Energy Modeller and in this capacity she co-leads the World Energy Outlook.
- Leon Clarke – Director of Decarbonization Pathways at the Bezos Earth Fund and a Senior Fellow at the University of Maryland’s (UMD’s) Center for Global Sustainability (CGS). Before joining CGS, he led the Integrated Human Earth System Science Group at the Joint Global Change Research Institute, a collaboration between UMD and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Dr. Clarke has served as an author and coordinating lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the National Climate Assessment, and the National Research Council. He has also led multiple multi-institution studies on climate mitigation. Dr. Clarke has a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
- Asami Miketa – Head of Energy Transition Planning and Power Sector Transformation at International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Before joining IRENA, she worked at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), executing energy planning capacity building programs, mainly in Africa and Asia, and also contributing to several energy assessment studies. Asami received her Ph.D. from Keio University in Japan in 2002, while working with the Energy Program at International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria.
- Vicky Pollard – Head of the unit in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Climate Action, covering modelling and economic analysis for climate ambition and policy, the greenhouse gas inventory and reporting of climate action. She has worked on climate change for the Commission since 2006, covering a number of issues over time including international negotiations, climate cooperation with OECD countries, the implementation of the EU emissions trading system, cooperation on ETS design, international carbon markets and work on just transition. From 2014 to 2019, Vicky was Counsellor for Environment and Climate at the EU’s delegation to China in Beijing.
