With the support of all the partners, Bruegel is organizing the Final Conference of the Horizon Europe project PRISMA, where key results will be presented to the participants.

    • When: December 2-3, 2026
    • Registration for the Public Conference on Day 2: link

Session 1: The costs of climate inaction
The climate extremes experienced in 2026 have reminded us how Europe and elsewhere are vulnerable to climate change, and the extent to which climate extremes affect society. This session will discuss how future climate overshoot will unfold across different scenarios, the expected impacts on the real and financial economies, and the climate strategies required to address intensified climate hazards. The session will include a presentation by CMCC and a panel with representatives of the EU institutions, researchers and the private sector.

Session 2: Priorities for the EU 2040 energy & climate architecture
The session focuses on priorities and policies to define and achieve the 2040 climate targets in Europe. The panel will discuss analytical insights into energy strategies consistent with 2040 architectures, with a focus on targets and implementation needs for the renewable electrification of Europe. The session will include a presentation by PIK (tbc) and a panel with representatives of the EU institutions, an EU member state, the IEA (tbc) and the private sector.

The line-up of speakers and panellists is on its way. More details soon: stay tuned!
